Music...the best thing you can do in bed! Ok, maybe the 2nd best thing you can do in bed. But, if you're not doing the best thing you can do in bed, chances are you're doing the 2nd best thing. And if you are, this playlist will help. You'll be yawning by the 2nd song, you won't be able to open your eyes by the 6th song and you'll be off in the land of nod by the 10th song. Which means it's a bit of a waste having 30 songs in this, but what the heck!! It may even cure the worst insomniacs!

"Eventually all the pieces fall into place. Until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment, and know that everything happens for a reason." ♥

I had to share this site. 8 tracks is a website where users create playlists which can be played back on the website only.

If you want to discover new music choose a playlist according to genre you want to list on8tracks and I have never been disappointed. Since the playlists are created by people you are likely to find good tracks. Unfortunately you cannot download the playlists and you can only play them on the website only (of course techies would find a way to record a playlist though they would have to play it once). The good thing is that you get to listen to the playlists without any annoying advertisements which is great!

Remove your Google history today

Media_httpimggawkeras_bbmci

Google has changed its privacy policy to share data it collects over all the products that Google has to offer. Therefore what you have searched in the past would not affect how Google+, YouTube, Blogger and other services work for you. You are likely to find more content which you have searched for in the past. Somehow this is not a comfortable feeling.

The unification of the data is happening today March 1, 2012 and the Electronic Frontier Foundation has posted a reminder to delete the history stored by Google search and also disable the recording of history. The steps are pretty simple and can be found on the steps can be found on the post page with the screenshots. If you do not have the time to head over the site for instructions here they are for your convenience

  • Log into your Google account

  • Head over to https://www.google.com/history/?hl=en&authuser=0

  • Click "Remove all Web History" and then "OK". You are done as these steps will also turn of recording of history. Be sure that the history list is empty as it happened when I tried it first. In case it happens click on the "Remove all Web History" link again and you should see the history entries list empty.

    Twitter's original mockup

    Media_httpuploadwikim_bwicm

Twitter was started by Jack Dorsey and it has grown phenomenally.

I came across the first mockup that was created by Jack Dorsey when he thought about how to communicate between a small team as he and his team were trying to come with ideas for their podcasting service Odeo. The reason I wanted to share this mock up was to remind myself that ideas which might seem very big today were started small. I'm amazed that this mockup was the basis of one of the most successful social media networking services.

Angelina Jolie's leg is the new meme!

Sunday night's Academy Awards will be remembered as the night Angelina Jolie's leg became a star of its own. Less than 24 hours after the ceremony, Angie's right gam is all the rage.

For those who missed the Billy Crystal-hosted event, Jolie caused a ruckus by wearing a black dress with a thigh-high slit. Her right leg was on display whenever she walked or posed (which was often -- just check out this collection of photos from BuzzFeed).

The leg's big moment came when Jolie presented for best adapted screenplay. Angelina stuck out her leg in a flaunty pose. The move was then mocked by writer Jim Rash who, along with Alexander Payne and Nat Faxon, won an Oscar for his work on "The Descendants."

But Rash's joke was just the beginning. Angelina's right leg is now

Fake photos are cool and everything, but as anybody who spends way too much time on the Internet can tell you, you're nobody until you have your own Twitter feed. Angelina's right leg has one and it already has more than 20,000 followers. A sample tweet: "Left leg and I talked -- everything's cool. Next Oscars, she gets the slit."

Mike Krumboltz is a Senior Editor at Yahoo!, where he writes about a variety of topics including politics and pop culture.

The beauty of social media is that any idea can take off. This time it is nothing but Angelina Jolie's leg which was at display at the Oscars 2012.

EOnline has a hilarious post on Angelina Jolie's leg's Manips (Photo manipulation).

Buzzfeed has a Pinterest board on Angelina Jolies leg meme. Mashable also has a post on famous moments at Oscars.

oDesk freelancers frustrated with abandoned jobs

This idea works well, if the employer has hired a person and hasn't turned for weeks about the project (when he has mentioned urgent job in his job description).

But, what about the hundreds of contractors who bid for the same job and they don't see any hire and they just have to wait to see any communication from the employer. I know all the 100s are not the genuine applicants. But, there will be some genuine who take the pain to write outstanding cover letters and they never hear anything from the employers after that. In this case what steps can oDesk take?

    My suggestions would be
    For employers

    1) There should be a verified payment method before posting their first project.

    2) If the employer hasn't turned back for a week after posting a job, then the job posting should expire automatically.

    3) They should put their original names, location and time zone on their profile and it would be nice if there's a genuine contact no to reach them. (I've seen some employers most of the time in data entry category who just put some dumb names and location while posting jobs). When oDesk wants the contractors to be genuine and wants to verify the identity of the contractors when required, there should be some rules for the employers too.

    For Contractors
    1) Every contractor must pass the oDesk readiness test to apply for the first project/job.

    2) There should be a limited category for the contractors to apply for the jobs. Because, I see most of the developers, web designers, graphic designers too apply for the admin jobs, customer service, order processing data entry and accounting. Due to this there will be increase in spam applications and the genuine contractors are discouraged to apply for the jobs for which they're qualified. This is a genuine request as a virtual assistant, I'll never ever want to apply for a developer job and when I don't have the skills why should I apply?

Please let me know other people's thoughts too.

    Thanks

Odesk is a platform used a lot by freelancers, amongst other sites, to find work. I have been using oDesk for sometime.

One of the frustrating part is that lot of jobs posted on oDesk expire or are abandoned by the posters which is frustrating as a lot of time is spent on sending cover letters and offers. Further each job you apply for reduces your quota of applications and abandoned jobs are part of your quota till they expire thereby barring you from applying for other jobs.

oDesk needs to fix this otherwise freelancers will abandon the portal. There should be some sort of charge for posting jobs specially from those who have a history of abandoning posted jobs.

If you have used oDesk ever it would be nice to hear from you.

Freeware scam - the Utorrent toolbar in Chrome

To uninstall uTorrent browser bar, please look at the top right side just near your address browser, you'll find a small "u" (uTorrent) icon. Right click it and choose "uninstall" from the list.

I installed Utorrent client for Windows. As part of the installation, Utorrent installed the utorrent toolbar in the Google Chrome browser.

I was perplexed because the toolbar use to overlay over the page (which is usually not the case with toolbars) and therefore I was missing the login link which is typically there are the top right of the login page.

I decided to uninstall the utorrent toolbar and I started searching for the way to uninstall the toolbar. I looked at the setting and other menus and could not find the option. I was frustrated.

Google rescued me (as my super heroes in the Marvel comics!) and I found the answer in the Yahoo questions and answers website. All I needed to do was uninstall the utorrent extension. An average user will not be able to uninstall the toolbar because he or she would not be able to find the option which makes me angry.

I'm sick and tired of the Freewares that try to dupe you to install additional software which is 'extra and useful' while you are installing the freeware. This is cheating and the software developers seem to get away with it. Therefore I have thought about highlighting this issue via my blog whenever it happens.

If you have had similar experience please share it and I would also like to hear what the readers have to say about this?
